I will join the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as a Nanyang Assistant Professor in November 2026.

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Data Systems and Theory (DaST) Group at the University of Zurich. I received my DPhil in Computer Science from the University of Oxford, advised by Prof. Dan Olteanu.

I am a database systems researcher with a strong appreciation for theory. I design algorithms with provable guarantees and work to preserve those guarantees in practical query optimizers and engines. In particular, I focus on two problems: cardinality estimation, estimating query result sizes reliably; and incremental view maintenance, keeping query results up to date as data changes.

Funded positions for PhD students, research interns, and postdoctoral researchers will be available in my group at NTU in 2027. More information →
